The waiting hall in St Lazare train station (Paris) is a vast space in which one can easily get lost in spite of the direction signs. As a matter of fact, it is home to many “lost steps”. Their echoes resound and each has its own story to tell : the hasty step of a lover afraid to miss his beloved, the placid step of he who has been taking the 17h18 for 20 years and who knows he won’t miss it, the hurried step of he who chases time and runs after his train, after his life...
