At the Spanish court, a man from the common people, Ruy Blas, becomes a Prime Minister under someone else’s identity. His intelligence and his greatness have seduced the Queen but their mutual passion will be fatal to him. In one of the finest French romantic drama, Victor Hugo combines love and hate, worship and treachery, secret door and poison, disguise and distraction, tears and laughter, angel and demon, life and death, violence and tenderness. The Amifran suggest a vision of their own of this text. They have wished to extract the essence of the play. Their aim is to present a possible recipe for romanticism beyond time and generations. A show which reveals a particular interest and love for the French language, culture and civilization. As Florin Didilescu, who created it, recalls : the Romanian Association for the Defence and Illustration of the French language is indeed, above all " a living body, an image, a friend, a personality, a partner, a colleague for all those who put French in the place of honour ".
