Two winters which will be remembered for a long, very long time : red winters 1837 and 1838 which bathed French Canada in blood. Patriots lost their lives there to conquer independence, defend their language and identity. Those wars took place because men and women were dreaming of a free Quebec where they would be masters in their own home. They wanted to go on speaking the language of their ancestors, fought for their children’s education, demanded to be listened to and respected in parliament. They rose up to make themselves heard through weapons and assert their difference in front of the whole world and their will not to be assimilated by the Anglo-Saxon culture. Nowadays they still speak French. A show in the form of a complaint on history and freedom. It illustrates both political and private events of those dark Quebec winters in an epic saga with a demanding tone.
