The show
This show is the third part of the trilogy dedicated to the myth of Oedipus. The first one, The magpie that smiles on the orange trees, was performed during the Rencontres in 2017. The second one The red Death was played in June 2018 in Milan. This third chapter tells the story of Oedipus who, having left Thebes, wanders like a beggar until Colon where he finally stops. Unable to play Oedipus’ life with the seriousness required for a tragedy, this company transforms it into a comedy. The contrast between the inadequacy of the actors and the story they tell on the one hand arises some comic scenes, and on the other it brings to mind an unusual thought on life and its meaning.
“If you listen
to the silence of your heart someone is there to sign you the road that few
take. Neither a tear gets lost in the sea of the rain”.
