The show refers to our time, as it appears gloomy and lacking of revolutionary impulse. Based on Peter Weiss script published in 1963, The Persecution and Murder of Jean-Paul Marat played by the theatrical group of the Charenton’s hospice, under the direction of Mister de Sade, this show displays an intense dialectic conflict between the marquis de Sade and the revolutionary Marat. According to Peter Weiss, Sade embodies anarchy and individualism, whereas Marat believes that the end justifies the means, no matter how cruel they might be. A striking dialogue between the past and the present.
