Rebellion? Revolution? The performance builds on 3 texts from the great Swedish playwright August Strindberg (1849-1912):The Pelican, Isles of the Blessed, Little catechism Teaching the Lower Classes. Strindberg was first of all a committed, naturalistic writer, before becoming a pioneer for Expression Theater. The play focuses on fundamental questions: how men can live with the social pressure coming from family and class that he faces? How does society evolve and what happens to the revolutions which are sparked? Does it not lead in fact to a kind of death, and does that not mean the revolution must start all over again?
