This colourful show is a delicate juggling of words and burlesque situations that demystify the sacred. The buffoon characters exalt the mission of Jesus and denounce its misappropriation by the powerful of the Church and the world.
Mistero Buffo is an absurd and biting satire of bigotry. Part of the text, written in a "gromelot" inspired by the dialects of the Pô plain, adds to the absurdity and comedy of the situations. A real treat for the mind.
