Workshop in
playwriting at Studio Novecento in Milan
From the 16 to the 18 March 2018, Fernand Garnier will lead a workshop in playwriting for the Studio Novecento students in Milan. Grenoble and Milan, the Créarc and the Studio Novecento: their solid relationship has already become an almost permanent collaboration. The last 9 December, Fernand Garnier first held his speech during the series of conferences Rencontres avec desHommes Extraordinaires (Meeting with Extraordinary Men) at La Casa della Memoria (The Memory House), in the heart of Milan.
In front of a public crowded with students and intellectuals, he spoke about his job as a writer, the Resistance and his last text Les Euménides en Vercors (The Eumenides towards Vercors). Some extracts translated in Italian by Marco Pernich were read by Stefania Lo Russo. At last, after an intervention held by Maddalena Giovanelli, took place some loving exchanges with the public.
Eventually, in June 2018, the Studio Novecento
will present, within the planning of the 30th Young European Theatre
Rencontres edition, a new creation devoted to the Ancient Greece. Milan, administrative Lombardy center and
Grenoble, city lighthouse of the entire Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes region, strengthen
their evergreen collaboration.
The Workshop
The attendants will be let free choice
concerning the themes from where some improvisation scenes will take place,
creating, eventually, a script. This experimental work will allow the
actors/student to discover the rules demanded by several theatre settings: from
the creation of metaphors to the choice of the genre, both with the construction
of plots and characters.
