The Gratitude Time
The 30th Young European Theatre Meetings Edition will be hold in 2018. In these last 30 years, Grenoble has hosted and collaborated with thousands of young actors and actresses coming from all over Europe, the Middle East, Maghreb, Africa, Asia and North America.
During these last 30 years, our young Grenoble’s actors and actresses have left for other countries: this allowed them to discover other cultures, to play and come closer to new friends and at last, once back to Grenoble, to spread their new ideas.
During these last 30 years, we have built a strong network of relationships and collaborations: in fact, the Young European Theatre Net can count, up to now, on connections from Heidelberg to Milan, from Frankfurt to Rome, together with Warsaw, Trieste, Oxford, Arad and many others.
During these last 30 years, the Créarc has been engaged to spread the cultural and theatrical development of the town, helped by the kind support of its administration structures, in order to train some young actors. Then, these cultural engaged young people would share their own education, expertise and eagerness to learn with the rest of the world.
Over the years, we have received a grateful feedback from all those who we have worked with. We wish that 2018 will provide us different occasions to pursue our cultural goal and to take into account new perspectives.
The anniversary day will allow us to discuss the role of culture and theatre in a world that, nowadays more than ever, is overwhelmed by exclusion and conflicts. “The fight between Good and Evil”, this would be the metaphoric expression used by the Faust characters, but we will talk about it later.
Mephistopheles, the Faust “Prince of Darkness”, is given the role to guide the main character towards Knowledge and it is always up to him, “the dark side of Power”, that Faust falls in love and definitely turns into a man. The paradox: the hoaxer is fooled.
All along these 30 years, we have bumped into lots of obstacles. We were often afraid that our path could crush. But kind support, enrichment and new pushes have always raised us from difficult moments.
Resilience, resistance, hopes. These things we are grateful for. Thank you all then.
