Since nowadays, for two centuries and a half the Enlightenment has deeply marked the European identity. This cultural movement has been the ferment of our contemporary mentality giving it the values around which it is still built: a taste for discovery and the coexistence of differences, tolerance and critical thinking.
These values are the foundation of the Rencontres du Jeune Théâtre Européen.
But Europe is going through a multiple crisis that weakens the men and women of theater as well as the young actors with whom they work. Their present and their future are involved.
That's why we have decided to organize this Long Debate as a round table. All the leaders of the troops participating in the Rencontres will have the floor.
We asked them to prepare their interventions based on the following questions:
- What is the relevance of Enlightenment values in your work today? What role can they play in the construction of Europe and the definition of an European citizenship?
Program :
9:30am : welcoming of the participants
