A Chioggia, dix mois par an, la population est quasi exclusivement féminine. Les hommes sont en mer, et les femmes sont dehors, dans les rues, à broder. L’arrivée de Toffolo, le jeune vendeur de courges, jette l’émoi parmi les femmes. Mais les hommes reviennent et les langues se délient. Gare aux scènes de jalousie et aux règlements de compte.
Barouffe à Chioggia est une pièce est très rapide, pleine de rebondissements. Les danses et les chants en italien en font une fête très enlevée.

English summary :

Chioggia, ten months out of the year is almost exclusively populated by women. The men are out at sea, and the women out in the streets embroidering. Then Toffolo, the young marrow-merchant, turns up and throws the women into great excitement. But… the husbands eventually return, and tongues are untied. Now… mind the jealous scenes and settling of scores !
This play, packed with action, moves on at a very quick pace. The dances and songs sung in Italian make of the performance a very lively and festive one.
